Shishir Subedi wins the title of the 6th Slow Bike Competition
The sixth edition of the Slow Bike Competition, organized to raise awareness for reducing increasing road accidents, concluded today. Shishir Subedi bagged the title of the 6th Slow Bike Competition 2082 held at New Road in Nepalgunj. Subedi secured the first position by completing the designated 100-meter distance in 3 minutes and 30 seconds.
Along with winning the competition, Subedi received 15,000 rupees in cash and a certificate. Similarly, Mohammad Arif Sheikh and Ajay Barnwal secured the second and third positions respectively, crossing the designated distance in 3 minutes 25 seconds and 3 minutes 9 seconds. The second and third place winners received cash prizes of 10,000 rupees and 5,000 rupees respectively, along with certificates.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the competition held at New Road, Nepalgunj, the chief guest, Chief District Officer of Banke, Dil Kumar Tamang, stated that the program organized by BAS Nepal has spread a message nationwide. He said that the slow bike competition organized to reduce road accidents would make the youth more aware and alert. He emphasized that such programs should be conducted continuously.
Chaired by the Central President of BAS, Shiva Kumar Verma, the competition was judged by Ishwari Devkota from the Traffic Police Office, Madhav Aryal, Manager of MS Trade International (Hero Showroom) Nepalgunj, and Hemraj Bhatta, Director of BAS.
The Executive Director of BAS Nepal, Namaskar Shah, delivered the welcome speech and highlighted the objectives of the program, which was organized to raise public awareness for reducing increasing road accidents and to encourage riding within speed limits by following traffic rules.
The competition, conducted by BAS Program Officer Rabindra Bohara, conveyed the message to the general public that the devastating situation of accidents can be avoided by riding at a slow speed, especially at a time when the younger generation is becoming victims of daily accidents due to high-speed driving.
The program organized by BAS was technically supported by the District Traffic Office, Banke. The event was sponsored by MS Trade International (Hero Showroom) Nepalgunj, in collaboration with Yagyalaxmi Auto Distributor Honda Showroom Nepalgunj, Pathak Land Service Center Nepalgunj, and Prapti International (Bajaj Showroom) Kohalpur.
Thirty-seven participants took part in the competition.
