Protesting Footballers Invited for Talks by ANFA, Demand Live Broadcast of Meeting
KATHMANDU - The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has invited the players who have been protesting the decision to hold only the National League this year, instead of the traditional A-Division League, for a discussion.
This decision was reached through an agreement between ANFA and A-Division clubs, leading to significant backlash from the footballers.
A delegation, led by the President of the Nepal Football Players Association (NFPA), Bikram Lama, arrived at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato for the scheduled talks. However, the players have taken a firm stance, insisting that they will not participate in the dialogue unless the entire meeting is broadcast live.
The agreement between ANFA and the clubs to forgo the annual A-Division League this year in favour of only a National League has sparked widespread protest among players.
The footballers argue that the cancellation of the A-Division League jeopardizes their careers and severely affects the development of Nepali football.
The players' demand for a live broadcast reflects their desire for transparency regarding the decisions that directly impact their professional lives and the future of the sport in the country.
