Pakistan-New Zealand Super 8 Match Abandoned Due to Rain
Kathmandu. The first match of the Super Eight stage of the ICC T20 World Cup has been cancelled due to rain. The match between Pakistan and New Zealand, scheduled to take place in Colombo, Sri Lanka on Sunday, was abandoned because of the weather.
Following the cancellation, both teams shared one point each. Pakistan had won the toss and elected to bat first, but the match was called off after the rain that started after the toss failed to stop.
The Super Eight matches of the World Cup began on Saturday. Out of the 20 participating nations, hosts India and Sri Lanka, along with Zimbabwe, West Indies, South Africa, Pakistan, England, and New Zealand, have reached the Super Eight.
Among the teams in the Super Eight, Group 1 consists of India, South Africa, West Indies, and Zimbabwe, while Group 2 includes England, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
