Call for Child Actors Auditions for Nepali Film 'Roll No. 1'
Kathmandu. The production team of the Nepali feature film 'Roll No. 1', which is based on child psychology, has called for auditions for child artists.
Presented by Seven Seas Cinema, the production group has issued an advertisement through social media, announcing they are searching for talented children in the 7 to 12 age group.
The film was announced last year, and its first-look poster was also unveiled. The poster showed a boy sitting on the last bench of a classroom raising his hand, signalling his presence. This clearly indicated the film's connection to child psychology.
According to the production team, the following child artists are required:
3 boy child artists aged 7 to 8 years
1 girl child artist aged 6 to 7 years
2 boy child artists aged 11 to 12 years
It is mentioned that the child artists should have a wheatish complexion and a height between 2.5 to 3 feet. Interested children can prepare a short video clip and send it via email to [email protected] or via WhatsApp number 9865119311.
The production side stated that individuals who are shortlisted from the received videos will be contacted for the final audition.
The film's story is indicated to revolve around the impact of social pressure, false prestige, and the 'must-win' mentality seen in students.
Producer Binod Paudel wrote on social media some time ago, "If you don't win everyone, you don't get respect, they say. You don't get counted, they say. Everyone else is a fool, only one is a scholar, Roll No. One... Roll No. One... Roll No. One." This statement suggests that the film is likely to present a deep look at the pressure put on a child's mind due to a competitive society.
The film will feature a story and direction by Jon Yonjan, screenplay and dialogue by Mahesh Dawadi, and music by Prashant Siwakoti. The production team has not yet disclosed the names of the main actors.
Another film presented by Seven Seas Cinema, ‘Abhimanyu: Chapter–1’, is currently preparing for its release.
