Government is committed to both the letter and spirit of the Constitution: Prime Minister Shah
Kathmandu. Prime Minister Balen Shah has stated that the government is fully committed to realizing the unity in diversity envisioned by the Constitution, ending discrimination and inequality, and building a social justice-based, egalitarian society.
Speaking at a program organized at the Army Pavilion (Sainik Manch) on the occasion of Constitution Day, Prime Minister Shah declared that the government is moving forward while embracing both the letter and spirit of the Constitution.
He said, "This Constitution has promised the Nepali people unity in diversity, the end of all forms of discrimination and inequality, and the creation of an egalitarian society based on development, prosperity, and social justice."
Prime Minister Shah emphasized that multi-party democracy, human rights, and the rule of law must be treated not merely as conditional requirements for the government, but as the fundamental pillars of national life.
"No matter how good a Constitution is, if the hands operating it are not honest and active, it becomes nothing more than a piece of paper," he remarked.
Prime Minister Shah paid tribute to all known and unknown martyrs who lost their lives in movements demanding political system changes and good governance. He also expressed condolences for the youth who lost their lives in the recent 'Gen-Z Movement.'
Similarly, Prime Minister Shah expressed his heartfelt condolences to the domestic and foreign citizens who lost their lives in the recent Bhote Koshi floods.
