N-PABSON Cricket: Labin, Bagmara, National, Kaski, and Gyanjyoti Victorious

Pokhara. The cricket tournament organized under the aegis of National PABSON, Kaski, is ongoing. Five matches were completed on Sunday in the said tournament, which saw the participation of students from grades 1 to 10.

In the first match held on Sunday, Labin Residential School defeated Oxford School by 61 runs. Labin, who chose to bat after winning the toss, made 101 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 10 overs. Oxford, coming out to bat in reply with a colossal target, was all out making 40 runs in 10 overs.

In the second match, Bagmara Academic Garden defeated New Lekhnath Public Academy by 22 runs. In the said tournament, which was played as an 8-over game, New Lekhnath, choosing to field after winning the toss, invited Bagmara to bat. While Bagmara made 59 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 8 overs, New Lekhnath, in reply batting, made 37 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 8 overs.

In the third match, National Creation Academy defeated Fewa Boarding School by 10 wickets. Fewa, who chose to bat after winning the toss, was bowled out losing all wickets in 7.5 overs, making 20 runs. National Creation, which received a simple target, made 24 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 3.4 overs in reply batting.

In the fourth match of the competition, Kaski Modernized Academy defeated Siddhartha Lovedale Boarding School by 52 runs. Siddhartha, who chose to field after winning the toss, invited Kaski to bat. While Kaski made 82 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 10 overs, Siddhartha Lovedale was all out making 30 runs in 8 overs.

In the final match, Gyanjyoti Vidya Kunja S.S. defeated Children's Academy by 10 wickets. Children's, who came out to bat after Gyanjyoti won the toss and gave the invitation to bat, were all out losing all wickets in 6.3 overs, making 16 runs. Gyanjyoti, who came out to bat in reply, made 17 runs in 1.4 overs.

The cricket tournament coordinator, Gyanendra Bahadur Thapa, informed that the first game on Monday will be between Hemja Boarding School and Triveni Public S.S. at 8:00 AM. This year, N-PABSON Kaski has organized the Second Grand Child Talent Identification Festival and Sports Competition–2082.

The Child Talent Identification [Festival] will be held from Mangsir 24 to 26 at Pokhara Exhibition Centre, and the Sports Competition will be held from Mangsir 20 to 23 at Pokhara Stadium. The formal inauguration of the program, however, will be on Mangsir 24.

Hemanta Adhikari, President of N-PABSON Kaski, informed that 1,500 students from schools affiliated with N-PABSON Kaski will compete in various categories in the competition. Students from 43 schools affiliated with N-PABSON will compete in the tournament. Trophies and medals will be awarded to the winning schools and students.

Adhikari informed that since guardians and students of private and community schools in Kaski and neighboring districts will also be able to observe the festival, the participation is expected to be extensive.

Raju Kayastha, Chief of Extra-curricular Activities at N-PABSON Kaski, informed that the Child Talent Identification Festival includes: Group Folk Dance, Solo Singing, Painting, Poetry Recitation, Acting, Science and Technology, Handicrafts (materials made from leaves, straw, and bamboo strips), and English Public Speaking Competition.

Premraj Adhikari, Secretary of N-PABSON Kaski, informed that students from grades 9 to 12 will participate in the English Public Speaking Competition, while students from grades 1 to 10 will participate in the other competitions.
