First Audition of ‘Kaski Idol’ Successfully Completed
Pokhara, Kartik 23 – The first audition of the singing and dance competition program ‘Kaski Idol,’ organized by Rupa Wangya Pratisthan and Geetkaar Pratisthan, has been successfully completed.
Opening the program, poet and songwriter Ramesh Shrestha said that songs depict the ups and downs of life, which is why they are loved by everyone. Recalling his own participation in painting and poetry competitions, Shrestha shared his experience, saying such competitions inspire new talent.
The program, chaired by Adarsh Pokharel, president of Rupa Wangya Pratisthan, also featured Anurag Adhikari, president of Geetkaar Pratisthan, who stated that the two organizations had jointly organized the program to discover talent in singing and dancing.
Remembering Pokhara’s contribution to Nepali literature and music, Adhikari expressed confidence that talents recognized through such idols would further enhance the region’s prestige in the future.
Singer Jhalak Gurung delivered the welcome speech and highlighted the structure of the program, while Madan Ghimire, secretary of Rupa Wangya Pratisthan, extended best wishes. On the occasion, Anil Dhungana presented his musical performance. The inauguration program was conducted by Rupindra Prabhavi, secretary of Geetkaar Pratisthan.
From the audition held on Saturday at Pokhara-27, Talchowk, 20 participants in singing and 15 in dancing have been selected for the second round. Adarsh Pokharel, president of Rupa Wangya Pratisthan, informed that the competition will proceed in stages, eventually selecting the top 5 for the final round.
The judges for the competition included Khem Lama and Krishnamaya Tiwari for singing, and Upendra Gurung and Samriddhi Pandey for dancing.
