Lyricist, Writer, and Social Worker Haribhakta Budhathoki’s “Jowanaai Dhalki Gaesi”

Kathmandu: The song “Jowanaai Dhalki Gaesi,” with lyrics by Haribhakta Budhathoki, music by Bhim B.C., and vocals by Melina Rai and Tek B.C., has been released on the Haribhakta Budhathoki YouTube channel.

The music video, featuring a joint performance by Salon Basnet, Tek B.C., and Binita Oli, was filmed by Nabaraj Upreti, edited by Bibek Sunar, video creation by Milan Bishwakarma, chief direction by Bishal Kaine, assistant direction by Suman Basnet, and directed by San Thapa.

Lyricist Haribhakta Budhathoki is a distinguished name in Nepali literature and social service. He is the author of more than a dozen books and has also written research papers in five different fields. 

In addition, he is recognized as the first author of a Nepali book on driving, the first editor and publisher of a driving magazine, and the first playwright from Terhathum district. His first play was “Basanta Kopila.” Therefore, Haribhakta Budhathoki is highly regarded as a playwright, novelist, lyricist, and storyteller.

The 86-year-old lyricist has previously published numerous modern and diverse songs, including “Pyaro Baba,” “Budhesakal,” “Sangharsha,” “Nazar Lagla Ni,” “Nazarma Nazar Milepachi,” “Mutumai Gaseko Saino,” “Duri Malai Hunu Chhaina,” “Jindagi Hau Timi Mero,” “Darling,” and “Malai Harn Dindaina,” as well as songs like Patanjali Yoga Gan and Rotary Gan. As a social worker, Haribhakta Budhathoki has made significant selfless contributions in social and educational fields.
