'Jari 2: Song of Chabhrung' Opens Today, Receives Excellent Response at Premiere
The highly anticipated film, 'Jari 2: Song of Chabhrung,' began its worldwide theatrical release today, Friday, November 7. On the eve of its release, a grand premiere show was held yesterday at Big Movies in Kamalpokhari.
Directed by poet Upendra Subba, the premiere was attended by a large crowd of filmmakers and journalists, including producers Rohit Adhikari, Saroj Neupane, Raunak Bikram Kadel, Arjun Kumar, director Deepak Prasad Acharya Kaku, actors Ayushman Desraj Joshi, Dibyadev, Bipin Karki, and actresses Aruna Karki, Pooja Chand, Keki Adhikari.
The 'Jari 2' team, including director Upendra Subba, producers Rambabu Gurung, Maniram Pokharel, actors Dayahang Rai, Bijay Baral, and actresses Miruna Magar and Richa Sharma, were also present. Specifically, actress Miruna Magar's traditional Limbu attire garnered significant attention.
Most of the guests who left the premiere praised the film, calling the cinema based on Limbu culture excellent. They noted that the film brilliantly presents how religion and culture were endangered during the Maoist People's War era.
Former Deputy Speaker of the dissolved House of Representatives, Indira Rana Magar, also attended the premiere. She told the media, "I also watched the first part of 'Jari.' I am very happy to watch the second part today.
This cinema conveys a good message. Moreover, it is set in a different time period compared to the first part, which the director has beautifully presented. I loved it. I believe the audience will love it too. Everyone should watch it once."
The film, written and directed by Upendra Subba and produced by Rambabu Gurung, Madhu Mizar, and Jiwan Gurung, stars Dayahang Rai, Miruna Magar, and Bijay Baral in lead roles.
The cast also includes Buddhi Tamang, Richa Sharma, Puskar Gurung, Prem Subba, Maotse Gurung, Manahang Lawati, Bishnu Moktan, Kamalmani Nepal, Anil Subba, Rekha Limbu, Bedana Rai, and Sirjana Ninglakhu.
Produced under the banners of Bansuri Films and Kabaddi Films, the movie is expected to have a strong box office performance in Nepal with a high number of shows, with particularly aggressive business anticipated in theaters across Eastern Nepal.
