Dayahang Rai and Bijay Baral’s ‘Barishtha Balram’ Set for Release

Kathmandu. The film ‘Barishtha Balram’ stars Dayahang Rai and Bijay Baral in the lead roles. Dayahang and Bijay are often seen together in many films.
From the hit series ‘Kabaddi’ to ‘Jari,’ these two actors have shared the screen. Similarly, they star together in the movie ‘Barishtha Balram.’
In the promotional materials released so far, both actors have been given equal space. Dayahang and Bijay appear equally in the posters, motion posters, and teasers.
In the posters and teasers, the two are shown in playful quarrels, often depicted not looking at each other.
Some time ago, a song from ‘Barishtha Balram’ was released. In the song titled ‘Nyouli Banai Ma,’ Bijay and Samriddhi Aryal were featured as a pair. Dayahang was not seen in this song.
This has raised questions about who the main hero of the film is. Considering his legacy, Dayahang is likely to have the lead role. However, Bijay has also been increasingly appearing in lead roles recently. After the success of ‘Purna Bahadur Ko Sarangi,’ Bijay has consistently been cast in leading roles.
The name Balram is uncommon in the Mongol community. However, it is not impossible. The name Balram is more common in the Chhetri–Brahmin community. This has sparked curiosity about who the main character or hero of the film is.
Although Bijay is often seen in a supporting role alongside Dayahang, the makers have kept suspense about his role in ‘Barishtha Balram.’ However, they have confirmed that there will be quarrels and conflicts between the two, which promises an entertaining dynamic.
‘Barishtha Balram,’ directed by Surendra Paudel, is set to release on October 23 during Bhai Tika. The film stars Dayahang Rai, Bijay Baral, Samriddhi Aryal, Pashupati Rai, Maotse Gurung, Bholaraj Sapkota, Rambabu Regmi, and Pradeep Kumar Chaudhary (PK).
The story and editing are by director Paudel, while the screenplay is written by Mahesh Dawadi.
Presented by Vrishabh Siddhi Entertainment in collaboration with Anvi Films, the film is produced by Ashish H. Tamang and Shriraj Karki.
Cinematography is by Mankrishna Maharjan, music by Prashant Shiwakoti, action direction by Samrat Basnet, and dance direction by Pradeep Lama.
The film will be distributed by DCN within the Kathmandu Valley and by Kuver Cine Distribution outside the valley.
