Kathmandu. The movie 'Barishtha Balaram' is set to be released on Kartik 6 (November 5), the day of Bhai Tika. This film will once again feature the powerful acting of actor Vijay Baral.
After establishing himself in the Nepali cinema market with the character of 'Purne' in 'Purna Bahadurko Sarangi', Vijay Baral will be presented in a different role in this film.
While Vijay appeared as an old singer in 'Purna Bahadurko Sarangi', in 'Barishtha Balaram', he will be seen as a young and energetic character. His character challenges the character played by Dayahang Rai, who has built the image of a 'Senior/Barishtha' in society. Baral’s character sets out to 'put in his place' Dayahang's character, who has even taken control of the state administration.
In 'Barishtha Balaram', Vijay is seen as a character attempting to break the 'Senior's' monopoly in the river (Khola), while also balancing his duties towards his religious parents and a romantic affair with a young woman.
While Dayahang Rai plays the 'Senior/Barishtha', Vijay plays the character of 'Bale'. Whether he remains 'Bale' or becomes 'Balaram' has not yet been clarified by the production team. However, since he stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the 'Senior', the audience believes the conflict between these two characters will make the film excellent.
Vijay Baral says, "I also feel that the character of 'Bale' might not be as big a hit as Purne’s character, which the audience loved. But it's certainly not easy. It's difficult to break the image that has settled in the audience's mind after the characters of Purne and BK became hits, and set a new one. However, sometimes simple things become a hit."
Many believe that given the experienced actors and production team, 'Barishtha Balaram' will not disappoint the audience.
'Barishtha Balaram' is directed by Surendra Poudel. Presented by Vrishabh Siddhi Entertainment in association with Aanvi Films, the movie features performances by Dayahang Rai, Vijay Baral, Sambridhi Aryal, Pashupati Rai, Maotse Gurung, Bholaraj Sapkota, Rambabu Regmi, Pradip Kumar Chaudhary (PK), and others.
The story and editing are by the director Poudel himself, while the screenplay is written by Mahesh Dawadi.
Ashish H Tamang and Shreeraj Karki are the producers, with Pradip G Dhami and Puskar B Ghimire as executive producers. Ram Bishta is the line producer.
The film's cinematography is by Mankrishna Maharjan, music by Prashant Siwakoti, action direction by Samrat Basnet, and choreography by Pradip Lama.
The film will be distributed by DCN in the Kathmandu Valley and Kuber Cine Distribution outside the valley.
