Four Appointed to Vacant Posts in the Artists' Association Take Oath
Kathmandu—The Nepal Film Artists' Association (Nepal Chalchitra Kalakar Sangh) has nominated office bearers to fill various vacant posts in the current working committee. The nominations were made according to Sub-section (Ga) of Article 26 of Chapter 8 and Sub-section (Dha) of Article 26 of Chapter 8 of the Association's Statute, as decided at a meeting held on Kartik 2.
In a ceremony organized in the capital on Thursday, Kartik 13, four office bearers—two Vice-Presidents and two Members—were sworn in for the vacant posts in the current working committee. According to the Association's Statute, Jayanta Regmi and Rajkumar Shah were nominated as the two Vice-Presidents, respectively. Similarly, Jeevan Thapa and Shrideva Bhattarai were nominated as Members, as informed at the ceremony by the Association's President, Mohan Niroula. President Niroula administered the oath of office to all four office bearers.
At the same ceremony, the Association's Treasurer, Sunil Katuwal, who is scheduled to represent Nepal at the International Federation of Actors (FIA) international convention in the UK from November 9 to 16, was congratulated and wished well with an offering of abir (coloured powder) and khada (scarf). President Niroula stated that more than 450 heads and representatives from film associations and organizations associated with 60 countries will participate in the conference.
During the event, Association President Mohan Niroula informed the gathering about the strict implementation of the standardized criteria for membership distribution and renewal according to the Statute, as well as the work done to make the accounting system transparent and more organized.
He also shed light on other activities undertaken by the Association. The newly appointed office bearers received well-wishes and congratulations from the President of the Film Journalists' Association Nepal, Samir Balame, the President of the Film Directors' Guild, Janakdeep Parajuli, and Senior Filmmaker and the Association's Legal Advisor, Krishna Dhungana, among others.
