ANFA Claims No Approval Received for Nepal vs Hong Kong Friendly Match
Kathmandu – The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has claimed that it did not receive any official approval for the international friendly football match between Nepal and Hong Kong, scheduled for Chaitra 12.
In a statement issued on Monday, ANFA said that necessary approvals—including those related to the maintenance of Dasharath Stadium—had not been granted for organizing the match.
ANFA further clarified that its officials and staff repeatedly followed up with concerned authorities at the National Sports Council (NSC), but no written response was provided.
According to ANFA, even when its staff were physically present at the NSC office on Sunday, no written approval letter was issued.
The association expressed surprise over the press statement released by the NSC, which claimed that approval had already been granted after ANFA had announced the postponement of the match. ANFA also questioned the intent of the NSC, stating that a letter issued on Chaitra 5 was only made public on Chaitra 8.
ANFA urged that instead of blaming the association, an institution like the NSC should maintain efficient administration and take necessary action against officials responsible for such mismanagement.
