After Defeating India, Samba Says: 'We Will Win Tomorrow Too'
Following Nepal's victory over India in the Women's International Friendly match, Nepali captain Sabitra Bhandari 'Samba' has expressed confidence that her team will secure a win in the upcoming match as well.
Samba delivered a sensational performance in Nepal's win, scoring the first goal within 2 minutes of the start and surprising everyone with a spectacular second goal from a free kick. It was her phenomenal effort that enabled Nepal to defeat India in the Women's International Friendly.
After the win, Samba recalled the painful memory of the Asian Cup qualifiers held last June. Nepal missed the chance to qualify for the Asian Cup after a heartbreaking defeat to Uzbekistan in a penalty shootout. Samba had taken on the captain's responsibility for the first time in that tournament.
"The pain of missing the Asian Cup is still there because we know that we are capable of reaching greater heights," Samba stated.
She extended best wishes to the team for the final unofficial friendly match, expressing that it "will help to test our depth."
Nepal is now set to compete against India in Sikkim on Kartik 12 (October 29). However, that match will not be officially recognized as an international fixture.-1761644106.jpg)
