Preparation for ‘Swarnabindu Prashan’ Program for Children in Biratnagar
Morang — With a focus on children’s health and mental development, Biratnagar is set to launch the ‘Swarnabindu Prashan’ program for the first time. To make the program effective, an orientation program for female health volunteers was held today in Biratnagar.
According to Dr. Chaudhary, the program will start from Kartik 25 and will provide Swarnabindu Prashan to children in all 19 wards of Biratnagar Metropolitan City. Targeting children aged one to five years, around one thousand children are planned to receive Swarnabindu Prashan in the first phase.
Dr. Chaudhary explained that Swarnabindu Prashan is made from a mixture of gold ash, ghee mixed with Ayurvedic medicine, and honey, and it is administered on the day of the Pusya Nakshatra each month. It is believed to enhance children’s memory, speech, digestion, physical strength, and immunity.
According to Kaviraj Inspector Dr. baijanath Sah, this traditional Ayurvedic medicine is also known as “Swarna Prashan” or “Suvarna Prashan.” Children are given two to five drops according to their age. The Brahmi herb used in it is said to have a positive impact on mental development.
Health volunteers participating in the program were urged to register all children in their respective wards and ensure that Swarnabindu Prashan is administered to them.
The program, organized by the District Ayurvedic Health Center, Morang, was attended by the center’s chief Dr. Ram Pravodh Chaudhary, Kaviraj Inspector Dr. Vaijnath Sah, Misson Dhakal, and Dhananjay Jayswal, among others.
