Sanskriti School organizes special screening of Nepali film ‘Paran’ for Teachers, Staff, and Parents

Kathmandu – Sanskriti International School organized a special film screening of the recently released popular Nepali film Nepali movie 'Paran' for its teachers, staff, and parents, aiming to promote cultural awareness, emotional education, and collective bonding.

'Paran' is an emotionally resonant film that captures a family story rooted in Nepali society. It tells the tale of an elderly father seeking love and companionship from his children in the later stages of his life. The film realistically portrays the pain and circumstances that arise when aging parents long for closeness with their children, while the children prioritize their own ambitions.

Sharing a brief reaction after watching the film, one parent said, "I became emotional multiple times while watching. At moments, I felt like a son holding my father's hand, and even then, I couldn't hold back tears. Other times, I felt like a father remembering my distant children, which made it more emotional, my handkerchief was completely soaked. This is probably the first time I've cried like this while watching a film."

The film stars veteran actor Neer Shah in the lead role. Known as the patriarch of Nepali acting, Shah's return to a leading role after many years has generated significant interest in the film. While targeting family audiences, the movie has managed to appeal equally to viewers of all ages and backgrounds.

'Paran' is directed by debut filmmaker Deepak Prasad Acharya (Kaku), who also wrote the story, while the screenplay and dialogues are written by Yam Thapa. The film is produced by Bioscope Cinema Pvt. Ltd., established through a partnership between two of Nepal's prestigious business groups—Golchha Group and Prisma Group.

The film features strong performances from Neer Shah, Mahesh Shah, Anjana Baraili, Madan Krishna Shrestha, Pooja Chand, Keki Adhikari, Prabin Khatiwada, Buddhi Tamang, Yaseli Yonghang, Babin Rai, Pushparaj Ojha, Seema Kafle, Daman Rupakheti, Yaman Shrestha, Subratraj Acharya, Suresh Thapa, Binod Rai, and child artist Aryadip Acharya, among others.

The school administration said that this film screening program, organized to create mutual affection among staff members, strengthen collective spirit, and deepen understanding of Nepali cinema and culture, has conveyed a positive message.
