'One Student, One Tree' Campaign Launched in Dhanusha Today
The 'One Student, One Tree' campaign has officially launched today in Constituency No. 3 of Dhanusha district.
The campaign was initiated by the secretariat of Manish Jha, a Member of the House of Representatives elected from Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) in Dhanusha Constituency No. 3. According to Jitendra Mahaseth, an RSP leader in Janakpurdham, around 5,000 to 7,000 saplings will be distributed to students in Dhanusha Constituency No. 3 during the first phase today.
He shared that although numerous tree-planting initiatives were carried out in the past, the plants often lacked proper protection and care. Therefore, this campaign was launched to assign the direct responsibility of conserving the saplings to the students. Leader Mahaseth noted that this approach will not only promote environmental conservation but also instill a sense of responsibility in the students.
Leader Mahaseth informed that the saplings are scheduled for distribution today across 22 community schools located in Dhanusha Constituency No. 3. According to him, the campaign aims to promote greenery in every school within the constituency and build an environmentally friendly community.
The Division Forest Office provided various species of saplings for the initiative, including neem, jamun (java plum), and bay leaf (tej patta). The campaign commenced with the handover of saplings to nearly 1,000 students at Janakpurdham's historic Gyankup School.
