Siddhartha Riverside Resort Scores a Hattrick at SATA Awards
Kathmandu: Siddhartha Riverside Resort, located in Chumlingtar, Chitwan, along the Prithvi Highway, has achieved a hattrick by winning the South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) for the third consecutive year.
The resort, operated under Siddhartha Hospitality, received the award for "Leading Riverfront Hotel/Resort" in the Nepal category for the year 2026.
Located roughly midway between Kathmandu and Pokhara, the identity of this area has been evolving in recent years. Once known merely as a stopover to rest briefly during long journeys, Chumlingtar is now developing into a destination for spending family vacations, enjoying time with friends, and relaxing close to nature.
The stunning riverfront view, spacious garden, and tranquil environment are the main attractions of the resort. Facilities include a swimming pool, an outdoor jacuzzi to enjoy in the open air, the 'Maya All Day Dining' and River Front restaurants, event halls for hosting meetings and functions, and well-equipped guest rooms.
The resort has expanded its hospitality services catering to a wide range of guests—from those seeking to unwind near nature to family gatherings, corporate events, and celebrations.
According to Krishna Neupane, Chief Executive Officer of Siddhartha Business Group, Siddhartha Riverside Resort was developed not just as a rest stop for highway travelers, but as an attractive holiday destination in its own right.
"Chumlingtar, situated almost halfway between Kathmandu and Pokhara, is naturally a beautiful destination. We have made an effort to offer guests a complete hospitality experience by combining the riverfront ambiance with a spacious garden, swimming pool, outdoor jacuzzi, restaurants including Maya All Day Dining, event halls, and comfortable rooms," said Neupane. "Our objective is not merely to create a place to spend a few hours during travel, but to establish Siddhartha Riverside Resort as a destination where guests specifically visit to spend their holidays."
He added that receiving international recognition for three consecutive years further encourages their commitment to service quality and hospitality.
Being located directly on the main highway connecting Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan is another key feature of the resort. While offering convenient access along journeys between major tourist cities, its appeal is not limited to being a highway rest stop. Creating an environment where guests choose Chumlingtar as their actual destination to stay for one or more days has become the resort's defining highlight.
The South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) is a regional accolade presented across various categories in tourism and hospitality. Winning the 'Leading Riverfront Hotel/Resort' award for the third year in a row is expected to help take Siddhartha Riverside Resort’s identity beyond national borders.
