BP Highway Reopens After Debris Cleared
Kathmandu: Traffic movement has resumed on the BP Highway after clearing mud and debris that slid onto a section of the road under construction due to continuous overnight rainfall.
On Saturday morning, heavy rain triggered a slide of mud and gravel along the Narke–Pinthali section (approximately 3 kilometers towards Bhakunde from Mangaltar), completely blocking vehicle movement.
According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), security personnel and technical teams launched an intensive cleanup operation using bulldozers immediately after the road was obstructed. Local administration reported that stranding vehicles have begun departing for their destinations following the removal of the debris accumulated on the road.
Although the highway has reopened, drivers are urged to travel with caution as the affected area remains under construction.
