Floods and Landslides Impact Various Highways Across the Country
Kathmandu: Major highways and road sections across Nepal have been severely affected due to ongoing floods and landslides. According to updates released by Nepal Police, landslides in multiple locations have left roads either completely blocked or reduced to single-lane traffic. Due to severe flooding, all major highways remain fully obstructed and closed until further notice.
Along the Tribhuvan Highway, a landslide at Khatripauwa in Dhunibesi Municipality-09 has reduced traffic to a single lane. Meanwhile, the Beni–Jomsom road section is completely blocked due to a landslide that occurred at Baisari in Raghuganga Rural Municipality-02 on the morning of Ashwin 10 at 5:50 AM. On the Kaligandaki Corridor, a landslide at Janti Pahiro in Baudikali Rural Municipality-03 has restricted movement to single-lane traffic, leaving heavy vehicles unable to pass. Similarly, flooding along the Besisahar–Khangsar road section has limited vehicle passage to a single lane. Furthermore, landslides at Chorkhola and Banakasbas in Shivaraj Municipality-1 along the East–West Highway have forced all passing vehicles to move in a single lane.
