Bollywood Actor Nana Patekar Passes Away After Heart Attack

Kathmandu — Renowned Bollywood actor Nana Patekar has passed away at the age of 75. According to Indian media agency ANI, Patekar suffered a heart attack at his residence in Mumbai on Thursday morning at 5:20 AM.

Dr. Shekhar Salkar, Head of the Oncology Department at Manipal Hospital, confirmed his passing. Following the heart attack, doctors performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for 45 minutes. However, during CPR, the electrical activity of his heart failed to return (asystole).

Doctors stated that the medico-legal case (MLC) process regarding Patekar's death has been completed, and a post-mortem examination is required.

Patekar, who began his acting career in 1978 with the film Gaman, made a distinct mark for himself in both Hindi and Marathi cinema. His performances in films such as Parinda, Prahaar, Angaar, Krantiveer, Tirangaa, Khamoshi, and Ab Tak Chhappan gained widespread acclaim.

He had remained active in cinema recently as well. He appeared in Housefull 5 alongside Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, and Riteish Deshmukh. Similarly, he played a police officer alongside Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri in the Vishal Bhardwaj-directed O'Romeo. He also made a special appearance in Subedaar, starring Anil Kapoor and Radhika Madan. — ANI
