“Bishwas and Maya Gurung Cast in Maotse Gurung’s ‘Pensionpatta’”

The second film directed by actor Maotse Gurung, ‘Pensionpatta’, has signed popular Gurung cinema actors Bishwas Gurung and Maya Gurung. Actor Dayahang Rai had already been signed for the lead role in this film.

Famous Gurung cinema actor Bishwas Gurung has previously acted in films like ‘Juni Juni’, ‘Timi Nabhae’, ‘Mho’, ‘Kutumberi Saino’, ‘Fichyo’, and ‘Sirsuwa’. Meanwhile, actress Maya Gurung has appeared in ‘Hyul’, ‘Chyagi’, and ‘Ghalek’. Both of them have expressed excitement about debuting on the Nepali silver screen through Gurung cinema.

Moreover, they are even more thrilled to debut in mainstream cinema with ‘Pensionpatta’, directed by Maotse Gurung, who is known as the ‘Godfather’ of Gurung films.

Although the film’s title may suggest a story about a former Gurkha soldier, the director and producer Gurung explained that the film will actually portray how a greedy man becomes generous.

The film is being produced under the banner of Maotse Gurung Films, and the story has also been written by director Gurung himself. Production Manager DB Gurung stated that the rest of the cast will be announced soon. The entire filming will take place around Pokhara in the Kaski district, with cinematography by Sushan Prajapati and casting directed by Suraj Tamoo.

Maotse Gurung’s first directed film was a box office hit. Known as a top choice for character roles, he has recently been involved in writing and directing as well. Previously, he had directed films in the Gurung language. Maotse Gurung is not only an actor and director but also a producer.
