Nepal Engineering College Commits to Enhancing Educational Quality

Kathmandu. Nepal Engineering College (NEC) has committed to significantly enhance the quality of its education to produce skilled and competent technical human resources for the nation. The college aims to provide students with a modern, world-class education that enables them to compete globally.

Key Highlights from the Orientation Program
During the educational orientation program held on Monday for the students admitted to the 2025 academic session:

Principal Durga Prasad Bhandari stated that NEC, over its 31-year history, has made a significant contribution to national development and will continue to strive for world-class academic standards.

He noted that the college is a non-profit social educational institution, ensuring that all income is reinvested into improving the quality of education for students and faculty. NEC has successfully produced over 18,000 skilled engineers.

Bhandari urged the new undergraduate students to study diligently, emphasizing that their families, the college, and the nation have high expectations for them to become excellent engineers.

Assistant Principal Mohandhwaj KC highlighted that engineering and architecture are practical arts, emphasizing that the college provides both theoretical and practical knowledge. He pointed out that Nepal needs around 650,000 engineers for development, far exceeding the current registered number of 77,000.

The college prioritizes practical teaching methodologies to enhance student learning.

Admissions and Institutional Status
NEC is affiliated with Pokhara University and holds a permanent license from the Nepal Engineering Council.

The college has filled approximately 85% of its undergraduate seats for the new session and is currently accepting limited enrollments for programs including Architecture, Civil, Civil & Rural, Computer, Electrical & Electronics, and Information & Communication Engineering, as well as B.E. for Diploma Holders.

To ensure broad access to engineering education, NEC provides scholarships worth approximately NPR 15 crore annually.
