Journalist Krishna Bhusal Honored with 'Lyricists Association of Nepal Journalism Award 2025'
Kathmandu: Krishna Bhusal, editor of Milap Monthly and associate editor of Himalayan Times, has been honored with the 'Lyricists Association of Nepal Journalism Award 2025' (2082 BS).
He was recognized during a special ceremony organized on the 17th anniversary of the Lyricists Association of Nepal for his significant contributions to promoting Nepali songs, music, literature, and creators through journalism.
During the anniversary event, the Association honored and awarded various creators, lyricists, and contributors across different categories for their role in the development, promotion, and conservation of Nepali music and literature. On this occasion, Bhusal was conferred the journalism award for consistently covering Nepali music and literary activities through his reporting.
Active in Nepali journalism for a long time, Bhusal has been bringing activities related to literature, music, art, and creative fields to readers through the media. He has played a key role in bringing Nepali creators and creative works into public discourse through news articles, interviews, reviews, and various literary content.
Expressing his gratitude after receiving the honor, Bhusal thanked the selection committee and the entire executive committee of the Lyricists Association of Nepal for considering him worthy of the award. He shared that the recognition has given him additional energy and responsibility in his journalistic journey.
"This honor belongs not only to me, but also to all well-wishers, colleagues, and readers who have believed in my pen," Bhusal said.
He added that he views this award as inspiration to work with even greater responsibility in the days ahead, reaffirming his commitment to highlighting Nepali music, literature, and creators' work effectively.
Furthermore, Bhusal emphasized the need for news media to continuously prioritize the contributions of artists and writers working creatively in music and literature. He noted that along with creative work, documentation, promotion, and public outreach are equally vital for the enrichment of Nepali music and literature.
In addition to journalism, Bhusal holds a strong passion for literature, with his poems covering life philosophies, society, and contemporary issues published across various media outlets. His literary works frequently explore social realities, human emotions, and diverse dimensions of life.
Alongside writing and editing news, Bhusal actively participates in literary activities and has edited over a dozen and a half books across various genres by different authors, demonstrating his deep dedication to both journalism and literature.
The Lyricists Association of Nepal concluded its 17th anniversary ceremony in the presence of creators, lyricists, artists, and literature enthusiasts, honoring key figures who have contributed significantly to Nepali songs and music.
