Floods and Landslides Block and Partially Disrupt Various Highways

Kathmandu: Major highways and road sections across various provinces in the country have been affected due to floods and landslides.

According to details released by the Nepal Police, landslides in various locations have caused complete road blockages, while others are open to one-way traffic only.

Due to flooding, all major highways in Rasuwa district have been completely blocked since 10:30 AM on the 10th. These road sections are reported to remain closed until further notice.

Landslides have completely blocked the Beni–Jomsom road section at Baisari in Raghuganga Rural Municipality-02 and Sukebagar in Annapurna Rural Municipality-03.

The road from Besisahar to Khangsar, which was blocked due to flooding since 4:00 PM on the 8th, has now been reopened to one-way traffic.

Along the Kaligandaki Corridor, following a landslide at Ghumauri Ghat in Bulingtar Rural Municipality-6 at 7:30 PM on Ashwin 10, the road has been reopened for one-way traffic.

Similarly, on the same corridor at Janti Pahiro in Baudikali Rural Municipality-3, a landslide that occurred at 4:45 PM on Ashwin 14 has restricted traffic to one-way only. The police noted that heavy vehicles are unable to pass through this location.
