CPN Parliamentary Party Decides to Take Effective Initiatives for Relief, Rescue, and Reconstruction During Natural Disasters
Kathmandu. A meeting of the federal parliamentary party of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) has decided to take effective initiatives for relief, rescue, and reconstruction in the face of natural disasters.
The decision was made at a meeting held on Thursday at the federal parliamentary party office in Singha Durbar, chaired by party parliamentary leader and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda'.
Members of Parliament from both the House of Representatives and the National Assembly attended the meeting. During the session, participants reviewed the effectiveness of Parliament so far, the party's role in addressing issues of public concern, and the role played by parliamentary committees in formulating laws.
Similarly, extensive discussions were held regarding the role the party should play in Parliament in the days ahead. Detailed deliberations were also conducted on contemporary political situations and on making the issues raised—and those to be raised—by the party in Parliament and parliamentary committees more effective.
Additionally, the meeting decided that following the prorogation of the parliamentary session, MPs will visit their respective constituencies to engage in public meetings and build public contact.
