Continuous Rain Blocks Dozens of Road Sections Across the Country
Kathmandu: Major highways and road sections across various provinces have been impacted by floods and landslides triggered by continuous rain nationwide.
According to details released by the Nepal Police, landslides at several locations have completely blocked traffic.
All major highways are fully obstructed. Due to flooding, traffic has been halted since 10:30 AM on Ashwin 10 (September 26). It has been stated that movement will remain completely suspended until further notice.
On the Prithvi Highway, following a landslide at Chalise, Gajuri Rural Municipality-02, the road has been open for one-way traffic only since 4:20 AM today.
Due to flooding that occurred at 4:00 PM (16:00) on Ashwin 8 (September 24), the road route to Khangsar via Besisahar remains completely blocked.
Along the Kaligandaki Corridor, traffic has been operating one-way since 7:45 PM (19:45) on Ashwin 9 (September 25) due to a landslide at Belbagar, Jaimini Municipality-8.
Along the Beni–Jomsom road section, landslides at Baisari (Raghuganga Rural Municipality-02) and Sukebagar (Annapurna Rural Municipality-03) at 5:50 AM on Ashwin 10 (September 26) have completely blocked the road. Additionally, on the Beni–Darbang road section, a landslide at Ghumaune Bhir (Beni Municipality-04) at 5:50 PM (17:50) on Ashwin 10 (September 26) has led to a total road closure.
