Gandaki Province's Future Depends on Quality, Inclusive, and Practical Education: Minister Thapa
Pokhara. Bindu Kumar Thapa, the Minister for Social Development, Youth, and Sports of Gandaki Province, has stated that the future of Gandaki Province depends on quality, inclusive, and practical education. He expressed this view while speaking at the provincial-level teacher and student talent identification program organized by the Education Development Division under the ministry.
Minister Thapa mentioned that education is the fundamental basis for building a prosperous society. He said that the Gandaki Province government has been continuously prioritizing quality, inclusive, and practical education, taking it as the key link for long-term social transformation.
Stating that expected changes in the education sector are not possible without identifying the talent of teachers and students, developing their capacity, and providing encouragement, Minister Thapa said, "The talent identification program brings out the creativity, innovation, and leadership potential within teachers and students. This enhances the quality of education and helps in producing competitive and responsible citizens."
He mentioned that the provincial government's resolve to ensure the future of the province and the nation through the bright path of education is becoming even firmer. Emphasizing that educational reform is not possible without the active participation of teachers, students, parents, and all stakeholders active in the education sector, Minister Thapa shared the view that cooperation among all parties is necessary.
Minister Thapa informed that the provincial government is continuously working on quality improvement through necessary policies, programs, and budget management in the education sector. He expressed commitment that in the coming days, technology-friendly education, skill-oriented, and practical education will be emphasized, and educational programs will be operated according to local needs.
Teachers and students participating in the program expressed their experience that such talent identification programs have helped in manifesting their potential, increasing self-confidence, and fostering creative practices. They also suggested that the provincial government should continuously conduct such programs.
Stakeholders have stated that the provincial-level teacher and student talent identification program has sent a positive message in the education sector and pointed out the need for collective efforts for quality education. This program is expected to play a significant role in uplifting the educational standard of Gandaki Province.
