Engineering Students Gain Practical Insight at Nepal Eco Panel Factory

Kathmandu – A group of civil engineering students from Aryan School of Engineering, Mid-Baneshwor, Kathmandu, recently visited the Nepal Eco Panel factory located at Jhaukhel, Bhaktapur, as part of their academic curriculum. The educational field visit aimed to provide hands-on exposure to EPS-cement-based lightweight sandwich panels — a cutting-edge material in modern civil engineering construction.

Guided by Er. Krishna Sunder Kumpakha, a graduate in Earthquake Engineering, the students explored the technical composition, manufacturing process, structural properties, and real-world applications of the prefabricated panels. Er. Kumpakha offered in-depth insights into the engineering significance and sustainable benefits of these materials, helping students link classroom knowledge to practical implementation.

Nepal Eco Panel is Nepal’s only prefabricated panel manufacturer certified with three international ISO standards, making it a vital learning destination for engineering students across the country. The visiting group observed firsthand how the EPS-cement panels are engineered for energy efficiency, lightweight construction, and earthquake resilience.

Highlighting the importance of academic-industry collaboration, the CEO of Nepal Eco Panel shared, “Every year, engineering students from institutions across Nepal visit our factory to understand the innovative manufacturing process and the practical utility of our panels. We are proud to support the learning journey of future engineers.”

The visit not only enhanced the students’ understanding of emerging construction technologies but also emphasized the growing relevance of sustainable and disaster-resilient building materials in Nepal’s development landscape.
