Embark UnMath takes Mathematics Innovation to schools in Bhairahawa and Butwal

Kathmandu : Since its founding in 2012, Embark UnMath has focused on transforming mathematics education by moving it beyond traditional textbooks into engaging, real-world experiences that eliminate math anxiety. Giving continuity to this mission, the UnMath team conducted an extensive outreach initiative across Bhairahawa and Butwal in Rupandehi District between August 3rd - 8th, visiting over 25 schools to introduce innovative mathematics education programs, engaging with principals, academic coordinators, and teachers to explore partnerships aimed at transforming mathematics education through innovative, hands-on learning.

Speaking about this outreach initiative, the Marketing and Business Development Manager at Embark UnMath Prajwol Pokharel said "We believe mathematics should be a subject students look forward to, not shy away from. These visits allow us to understand schools' unique needs and co-create solutions that work for their context.”

The outreach initiative introduced UnMath's experiential learning programs—including the UnMath District initiative, Math Storytelling, Entrepreneurial Math, and Math Museum concepts—to Rupandehi schools. Through direct engagement with educators, the team addressed gaps in traditional mathematics instruction while fostering student curiosity through activity-based approaches.

Shiv Sundar Pokhrel, Yoga and Pranayama Instructor at Lumbini World School said "This approach is exactly what our students need—practical, engaging, and relevant to real life."

The outreach initiative generated substantial interest across diverse educational institutions. Multiple schools have requested demonstration classes and customized proposals, while connections with consortium leaders create opportunities for broader implementation.

Educators involved consistently praised the alignment between UnMath's interactive methodologies and their vision for quality education, emphasizing the program's potential to make mathematics more engaging while maintaining academic rigor.

The UnMath team plans to conduct demonstration sessions, follow-up with interested schools, and develop tailored proposals to accommodate varying institutional needs. Building on these engagements, the initiative aims to establish long-term partnerships bringing innovative mathematics learning directly into Rupandehi classrooms.
