World Meditation Day Observed at Nepalese Embassy in Belgium

Brussels – On the occasion of the second World Meditation Day, the Nepalese Embassy in Belgium organized a collective meditation program.

The event held in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, was attended by Nepalese Ambassador to Belgium, Sewa Lamsal, embassy officials, and meditation practitioners from the Nepali community.

The program began with prayers for global peace and goodwill. Ambassador Lamsal welcomed the participating meditation practitioners and shed light on the significance of World Meditation Day. She emphasized that mental peace attained through yoga and meditation can lead to peaceful and prosperous societies and nations.

She added that Nepal, the land of the Buddha, the yogi Shiva, and Sage Janak’s meditation centers, is offering the gift of meditation to the world and is striving to end disease, hunger, and war. "With the spirit of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,’ Nepal observes World Meditation Day to promote harmony and goodwill globally through spiritual diplomacy," said Ambassador Lamsal.

During the program, yoga and meditation instructor Om Sharma highlighted that in today’s world, trapped in technology, only meditation can lead a person to true freedom.

He explained that a person with awakened consciousness can distinguish right from wrong and help build a just and fair society, and he also guided the participants through meditation.

Similarly, life sciences instructor Savita Dahal conducted meditation along with subtle exercises and pranayama, explaining the importance of meditation for a healthy body and mind.

Through the collective exchange of energy, Ambassador Lamsal, the embassy team, and the participants expressed gratitude and mutual respect, bringing the program to a close.
