Captain Amrit Jha Set to Return Home After Iran Release
Kathmandu — Amrit Jha of Udayapur, Nepal, who had been detained in Iran, has been released. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that he was freed on Wednesday.
Efforts are currently underway to bring him back to Nepal, with necessary coordination being carried out by the Nepali Honorary Consul General in Tehran and the Nepali Embassy in Doha.
Jha had been working as a captain for a shipping company based in Dubai. He was arrested while returning after transporting oil.
