Benisha, Shristi, and Arpan's Takes on 'The Blue Light': Features of the Film
Kathmandu. The psychological thriller film 'The Blue Light', viewed as a distinct genre in the film industry, is being released in theaters nationwide starting this Friday, Magh 16.
Featuring a strong star cast and performances from actors who have already proven themselves to the audience, this film is expected to offer a taste different from the traditional trend of Nepali cinema. Benisha Hamal, Shristi Shrestha, Arpan Thapa, Mahesh Tripathi, and Ayushman Desraj Joshi play the lead roles in 'The Blue Light'.
Benisha Hamal is known for her excellent acting skills in the Nepali film industry. Benisha is an actress who can adapt herself to any role. Whether playing a modern urban actress or a simple village girl, she always appears fit. Benisha, who can mold herself into any character, is very excited about 'The Blue Light'.
Benisha says she is confident that this cinema will win the hearts of the audience. "It is somewhat different from the films we are currently watching," Benisha says. "Therefore, our team is confident that the audience will like it."
She clarified that she also joined the production because she liked the film's content and performance. Benisha is also the executive producer of 'The Blue Light'. She stated that the subject matter and presentation of the psychological thriller 'The Blue Light' are its main attractions.
Similarly, actress Shristi Shrestha, who has been seen in beautiful and romantic roles until now, is appearing in a 'negative' role in this film. She had previously worked in the thriller film '11:55', but she stated that her role in 'The Blue Light' is the most distinct character she has portrayed so far.
"My role in this film is of an 'antagonist' nature. I have been liked in films of this thriller genre, but the role and story of 'The Blue Light' are very deep and different," she said. "As an artist, one gets to learn a lot while performing such complex and negative characters rather than always looking good and positive," Shristi shared her experience, saying, "I was attracted to this role because of the director's vision and the depth of the story. This is the most different role of my career so far."
Actor Arpan Thapa stated that films like 'The Blue Light' are rarely made. Arpan says that a director like Baliram Chauhan is needed to make a film like 'The Blue Light'. "A film like 'The Blue Light' is not easily made. To make such a film, a director like Baliram Chauhan is required," Arpan says. "Many movies are made, but such a film is not made often, and a similar director is needed."
He praised some scenes of the film and its presentation. "After watching the film, the audience will discover many things," Arpan says. Arpan is a versatile actor as well as a director and writer himself. Known for his serious acting, he said that seeing oneself as 'handsome' in the mirror and transforming into a character on screen are different things when creating a character in a film.
Arpan says, "In many cases, we actors think that only we have created the character, but in reality, from writing to direction and the entire production team, everyone plays an equal role in building a character. In 'The Blue Light', we have presented a character whose psychology will force the audience to think." Arpan also mentioned that he is always in search of different and challenging characters, and this film has satisfied that hunger.
Along with Benisha, Shristi, and Arpan, Ayushman Desraj Joshi, Mahesh Tripathi, and Surakshya Panta are in lead roles in the film 'The Blue Light'. Grishma Katuwal and Sahara Sharma are the child artists.
'The Blue Light' is directed by Baliram Chauhan. This is his debut direction. Presented by Skyfall Pictures, Bholanath Katuwal and Raman Gray are the co-producers of 'The Blue Light'. Cinematographer Narendra Mainali and actress Benisha Hamal are the executive producers.
The film, photographed by Narendra Mainali, has Akash Ukheda as the chief assistant director. Reliza Shrestha is the production designer, and Dilip Panta is the production controller.
