Kathmandu – The Teej special song “Cheli Ko Chad, Nachne Ho Gaune Ho Teejma Barilai” (“Festival of Daughters, Let’s Dance and Sing in Teej”)—presented by the Nepal Cultural Federation, Lalitpur, and produced by Yala Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.—was officially released on Monday amid a grand ceremony.
The release event was held at Karyavinayak Party Palace, Saibu, Lalitpur. The song, crafted with a social message, primarily emphasizes that daughters-in-law should be given the same respect and freedom as daughters.
Daughters-in-law Equal to Daughters — The Core Message
The song especially highlights that when a married daughter returns to her parental home, her in-laws and husband should treat her as their own daughter. It seeks to challenge the prevalent notion in Nepali society that “one must always obey without question” and instead promotes equality, respect, and emotional warmth, according to the production team.
The vocals are by Suraj Adhikari, Advocate Anil Shrestha (Nirjan), Madhu Regmi, Shashi Pun, Sharmila Brahmacharya, and Shraddha Bajracharya.
