Song Dedicated to Mayor Harka Sampang Released

Kathmandu – A new song dedicated to Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City Mayor Harka Sampang has been released with lyrics by British Gurkha Army and songwriter Keshav Rai. 

Titled “Harka Sampang Aaye Aba Deshko Bikas Huncha” (Harka Sampang has arrived, now the nation will develop), the song has already started receiving positive responses from audiences.

The song is performed by renowned singer Rai is King (Rajesh Payal Rai) and popular singer Sunita Thegim, with music composed by Pawan Bantawa Rai.

The arrangement was done by Raju Karki, while the music video was directed by Bishal Rai. Dhruva Rai Kaila is credited as the presenter and producer. The song has been officially released through Bishal Chautari TV’s YouTube channel.

According to lyricist Keshav Rai, this is not his first contribution to Nepali music, as his earlier songs Gaunbesi and Aashuko Bhel have also been released.

However, the release coincided with the government’s recent decision to shut down social media platforms including Facebook and YouTube in Nepal, which has impacted the promotion and reach of the song. 

Since online platforms remain a major source of income and promotion for the music industry, artists and producers have expressed concerns over the direct effect of the shutdown on Nepali music.
