‘Sindhuli Gadhi Ghumera Herda’ Remade After 46 Years

Kathmandu – The popular song ‘Sindhuli Gadhi Ghumera Herda’ has been remade after 46 years in a fresh new version. Originally recorded in (2036 BS) at Radio Nepal, the song had won the first prize and is considered a timeless classic.

The original lyrics, music, and vocals were by Krishna Bikram Thapa, while the remade version has been presented by Raju Thapa. The re-arrangement was done by Rubin Kumar Shrestha. Raju Thapa is the eldest son of the late Krishna Bikram Thapa.

Carrying the historical and musical identity of Sindhuli, the song has remained popular among Nepali audiences. The video for the remade version was also filmed at scenic locations in Sindhuli district.

Ramesh Bishwakarma and Deepsa Karki play the lead roles in the video, with Pawan KC, Satya Devi, Pabitra Ramtel, and Kaji Thapa appearing in supporting roles. Cinematography is by Basu Baral, and the video is directed by Kranti KC.

The song can be listened to on the Music Nepal YouTube channel. Reviving the song after more than four decades is expected to bring the new generation closer to Sindhuli’s musical heritage.
