Short Film ‘Nishabd’ Based on a Childless Couple's Story Unveils First Look Poster

Kathmandu – The first look poster of the short film ‘Nishabd’, which revolves around the struggles of a childless couple and the mental pressure imposed by society, has been released. The first look is designed to spark curiosity among viewers.

Produced under the banner of Celebrity Times, the film features performances by Ojashwi Bikram Bista, Mishel Ghimire, and Diwas Nath. The film is written, directed, and produced by Ramji Gyawali. Cinematography is by Shankalp Bhujel, editing by Nahkul Khadka, sound design by Bharat Kandel, and color grading by Rajendra Moktan.

Currently in the final stage of post-production, ‘Nishabd’ is set to be presented to the audience through charity shows, submitted to international film festivals, and entered into award competitions, according to director Gyawali. He states, “We’ll decide how to present the film to audiences only after its completion. However, YouTube is not our first priority.”

The makers state that ‘Nishabd’ vividly portrays the pain, helplessness, and silent suffering experienced due to societal and familial pressure in the absence of children. According to director Gyawali, the film will emotionally touch the audience and compel society to reflect. He adds, “A short film doesn’t allow much time to tell a story like in feature films. We are saying something in a short span, and the audience will grasp a lot from it.”

Ramji Gyawali has also produced other works awaiting release, including ‘Ritto Gaun’, ‘Lapataa Santaan’, and the docudrama ‘Maun’. With ‘Nishabd’, four of his projects are yet to be released. ‘Ritto Gaun’ has already received national and international awards and has been screened at various festivals.

After a decade-long career in journalism, Gyawali transitioned into film direction. He has previously directed popular music videos such as ‘Darkmoon’, ‘Ek Lover’, ‘Honeymoon’, ‘Aradhya’, and ‘Lilami’.
