Poster Released for 'Roll No. 1' Focusing on Rural Education

KATHMANDU. The first look of the movie 'Roll No. 1' has been released. The production company Seven Seas Cinema has unveiled the first glimpse of its new presentation, the film 'Roll No. 1'.

The production team released two posters of the film on Thursday, which is scheduled to be screened in theaters across Nepal from Jestha 15 of next year (Republic Day).

The two released posters of the movie 'Roll No. 1' attempt to present the introduction of the characters along with the core essence of the film and a perspective on the reality of Nepali society. The clay color used in the poster signifies the connection to the common people.

In one of the two public posters, lead actors Mukun Bhusal and Renu Yogi are seen in rural attire along with child artist Nirbhik Regmi. Their costumes depict the struggle they are undergoing to live their lives. The poster shows them educating their son even amidst scarcity.

The mild happiness seen on the child's face in the first poster and the school in the hilly region seen behind clearly indicate that the cinema will raise the story of education and rural life, which is also suggested by the movie's title.

In that poster, there is an innocent smile on the boy's face. He is wearing a sweater and a shirt and carrying a bag, which is his identity as a student. This makes it clear that he is the center of hope for the family. The mother behind the child is carrying a black frying pan on her head, and the father is carrying a Damaha instrument.

A hilly government school building is seen in the background. The distant school signals that access to education is still out of reach for rural people. The dirty clothes and faces of the parents imply that they are working hard all day to realize their son's dream of 'Roll No. 1'.

In another poster, there is an emotional scene of the child sleeping with his head on his father's back. There is happiness on the child's face and a hilly region in the background. There, a notebook is placed under the child's head and above his father's head.

This indicates that necessary reading materials for students are becoming an obstacle to the educational dreams of rural students and parents. This poster attempts to show how difficult it is for rural parents to manage reading materials. This notebook connects the child's dream and the father's responsibility.

The father's back is presented here not only as physical support but as the foundation of the child's future. The tired face and the struggle seen in the father's eyes reflect the sacrifice a parent makes to educate their child. Fatigue and, to some extent, fear are visible in the father's eyes. Concern about whether he can secure his child's future is visible in the father's eyes. However, the child's calm posture shows complete trust in his father.

The tagline of the movie is kept as 'Story of Every Student', which clarifies that this cinema is focused on student life, school struggles, and educational dreams. It claims to be a common experience of students in general villages of Nepal.

The movie title 'Roll No. 1' talks about competition, but the poster shows how big a price a lower-class family has to pay to achieve that '1' digit.

The first-look poster of the film released last year, showing a child raising his hand in a classroom to mark his presence, also attracted many people's attention. Since the cinema is made by the team of 'Purna Bahadur ko Sarangi', which achieved historical success at the box office, and because of the 'emotional tone' seen in the poster, it is certain to connect the audience emotionally to the film beforehand.

Prepared under the direction of Jhon Yonzon, the film stars Mukun Bhusal, Sushank Mainali, Renu Yogi, and Srijana Adhikari in lead roles. The child artists in the film are Nirbhik Regmi, Rinchen Lama, Sanyam Katuwal, and Sijal Shrestha.

With Binod Paudel and Janwi Paudel as producers, Chatramaya Giri and Ramesh Choulagain are co-producers.

This movie is written by Mahesh Dawadi. Filmed in various scenic and rural parts of the mountainous district of Myagdi, the DOP of this cinema is Shiva Ram Shrestha.

The film features music by Prashant Shiwakoti, BGM by Rohit Shakya, Firod Khadka as Chief AD, Kala Sangroula as Production Designer, and Manoj Joshi as Production Head. The editor of the film is Madan Ghimire.

According to producer Paudel, this film will be released simultaneously in Nepal as well as abroad. Rich Entertainment and JM Cinema have taken the responsibility of distributing the film.roll-no-1-(2)-1775102797.jpeg
