‘Rimai’ Premieres Ahead of Nationwide Release Tomorrow
The much-anticipated movie ‘Rimai’ held a grand premiere yesterday at Ranjana Cineplex, New Road, ahead of its nationwide release tomorrow. The event was attended by a large gathering of film industry professionals, media personnel, and celebrities.
Before the premiere show, the Gurung community’s cultural dance Sorathi was performed, with lead actors Dayahang Rai and Rishma Gurung appearing in traditional attire. The premiere was attended by prominent figures including director Gyanendra Deuja, Deepak Acharya (Kaku), Anil Yonzon, Wilson Bikram Rai, and Rohit Rumba.
Actor-turned-director Wilson Bikram Rai praised the film as one of the best representing the Gurung community. Director-actor Mautse Gurung also expressed his satisfaction with the film, emphasizing its cultural significance. Lead actress Rishma Gurung, making a comeback after eight years, shared her excitement and said the film brought back nostalgic memories while providing a fresh experience.
Director Khil Bahadur Gurung highlighted that three years of hard work and dedication went into the making of the film and expressed confidence that audiences would appreciate it. He added that the positive response from the premiere show would boost the film’s commercial success.
Produced by Gorkha Siran Chok & Ligligkot Films Pvt. Ltd. in collaboration with RotePing Entertainment, the film features a strong cast including Dayahang Rai, Arpan Thapa, Rishma Gurung, Gaumaya Gurung, Kabita Ale Magar, Maotse Gurung, Pushkar Gurung, Beermaya Gurung, Beerwbl Ghale, Divi Gurung, Tek Gurung, and child actors Asim Subba, Prestu Gurung, and Prashna Rana Magar. The screenplay is written by Upendra Subba, cinematography by Shailendra Dhwaj Karki, with music by Deepak Sharma and Thaneshwar Gautam.
‘Rimai’ is set to release nationwide tomorrow, promising an engaging cinematic experience that highlights the culture and stories of the Gurung community.
