RC Parajuli Appeals for Implementation of NCC Agreement in America

USA. Diluram Parajuli, the Regional Coordinator (RC) of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) for the Americas, has appealed to the National Coordination Councils (NCCs) of the USA and Canada to unite for a common general convention.
He urged everyone to avoid misleading information circulating on social media and in the press, and instead to work with a spirit of unity.
In a press release, Parajuli recalled that he was elected as the Regional Coordinator for the Americas during the global convention held on May 3–4, 2025, which, under the facilitation of Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and as per the directive of the Supreme Court of Nepal, elected a new executive committee led by Mahesh Kumar Shrestha.
The statement clarified that currently there are two legally registered NCCs each in the USA and Canada, operating under separate leaderships. He mentioned that a decision has been made to unify these councils through a joint general convention, and that he is actively working to implement this decision.
According to him, both NCC presidents, Dr. Arjun Banjade and Surya Lamsal, signed the agreement, with NRNA ICC President Mahesh Shrestha also present during the signing.
As per the agreement, both NCCs have committed to opening membership registration and renewals on the U.S. portal and to organizing a unification general convention inclusive of all.
Parajuli emphasized that discussions with both NCC presidents are ongoing and stated that it is everyone’s duty to follow the legal directives and implement the agreement in good faith.
