Four Bodies Found Inside Chilime Hydropower Project Powerhouse

Kathmandu: Four bodies have been recovered from inside the powerhouse of the Chilime Hydropower Project. According to an project engineer, the four bodies were discovered during a search operation inside the powerhouse on Wednesday afternoon.

On August 26, a flood originating from the Lhende River in Tibet flowed into the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rivers, causing extensive damage to around a dozen hydropower projects and power infrastructure across Rasuwa and Nuwakot, including the Chilime Hydropower Project. Since then, search operations have been ongoing for the employees and workers missing inside the project premises.

The identities of the recovered bodies and further details regarding the incident are yet to be disclosed. Security forces and concerned authorities are carrying out the identification process and necessary legal procedures.
