Acting US Ambassador Boldin Pays Courtesy Call on Prime Minister Shah

Kathmandu: The Acting US Ambassador to Nepal, Megan Boldin, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Balendra Shah today at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the US government for its solidarity and support toward Nepal during this difficult period of disaster.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister stated that both Nepali and foreign citizens have been affected by the disaster. He noted that the country had to face this incident as an impact of climate change. Furthermore, he emphasized the need to strengthen global cooperation and collective efforts to reduce the risks of climate-induced disasters and address their impacts.

Similarly, discussing Nepal's unique tourism potential and the opportunities to achieve mutual benefits through the development of the tourism sector, the Prime Minister stated that Nepal always welcomes American investment.

During the meeting, Acting Ambassador Boldin expressed deep grief over the loss of life and property caused by the floods in Rasuwa, extending her condolences to the bereaved families and affected communities. Reaffirming the US government's solidarity with the Government of Nepal and the Nepali people in this difficult hour, she stated that the US government stands ready to provide necessary assistance and cooperation in relief, rehabilitation, and reconstruction efforts.
