Four Injured in Saptari as EV Collides with Tanker
Saptari: Four people were injured when an electric vehicle (EV) collided with an Indian-numbered tanker parked on the roadside due to thick fog at Shripur in Surunga Municipality-6, Saptari. The accident occurred on the East-West Highway at around 5:45 AM on Wednesday.
According to the police, the EV (Ba.Pra.01-035Cha 3317) heading to Jhapa from Kathmandu crashed into a broken-down Indian tanker (WB 11 F 1795) parked along the road.
The injured have been identified as the car driver Manoj Shrestha, 21, of Pitle-3, Dhading; Oshim Khan, 30, of Inaruwa-3, Sunsari; Mohan Kabirath, 25, of Barahakshetra-9, Sunsari; and Pawan Rai, 28, of Bhadrapur-7, Jhapa.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Himraj Ghimire of the District Police Office, Saptari, preliminary investigations show that the speeding EV hit the tanker due to poor visibility caused by dense fog. DSP Ghimire stated that further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
