Film ‘Paras’ Announced on Director Krisha Chaulagain’s Birthday

Kathmandu – On the occasion of director Krisha Chaulagain’s birthday, the new film Paras was officially announced on Wednesday. The film will be directed by Krisha herself, with the story also penned by her.

The project is being produced by her brother, Bishal Chaulagain, under the banner of KP Films. Screenwriter Sachin Ladiya has written the script, while renowned cinematographer Purushottam Pradhan will handle the camera. This marks the third collaboration between Krisha and Purushottam, following their work together in Aicho Paicho and Pitambar. Producer Bishal is also teaming up with the same group for the third time.

The film is set to go on floors from the month of Falgun. At the announcement event, held at a party palace near Kalopul, director Krisha revealed that Paras will be a mix of action and love story.

Speaking about the project, she said, “The writing of Paras began when Sachin Ladiya came to Nepal. That’s all I can share for now—we’ll reveal more details gradually, including the cast and technical team.” She further added, “Purushottam Dai will be the cinematographer, and I will direct.”

Producer Bishal shared that the plan to announce the film on his sister’s birthday was intentional. He also mentioned that mistakes made in their earlier film Pitambar would be corrected in Paras. “Last year, during her shoot, we celebrated her birthday in a very different way—everyone knows how that went. This year, the gift is this film,” he said.

Tourism State Minister Arun Kumar Chaudhary attended the event as chief guest, extending birthday wishes to Krisha and best wishes for her new project.

Krisha’s directorial debut, Aicho Paicho, was considered a critical success. However, the release date of Paras has not yet been announced.
