NRNA Unity: Vice-President Shah Urges Withdrawal of All Lawsuits to Make it Effective
USA - Sunil Shah, Vice-President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association International Coordination Council (NRNA ICC), has stated that all parties must immediately withdraw lawsuits filed in various courts to strengthen the unity of the association.
Sending a letter to the NRNA Executive Committee, Shah stated that as long as the lawsuits filed by various parties in the courts are not withdrawn, an environment of trust cannot be built and it will be difficult to maintain emotional unity.
He suggested that after the withdrawal of the lawsuits, a clear procedure should be prepared regarding membership, the delegate system, and other necessary issues.
He also recommended convening an Executive Committee meeting before any discussion or decision is made in the Steering Committee. "I respectfully request that the Executive Committee meeting be called as soon as possible to discuss these important issues," he said.
"It is our collective responsibility to implement the unification process correctly, respectfully, and with complete transparency," Shah said in the letter.
Earlier, he had welcomed the broad unity in NRNA, stating that the NRNA campaign should be strengthened from the grassroots level, adhering to rules, procedures, and the legal framework.
Unity was declared between the groups led by Mahesh Kumar Shrestha and Dr. Badri KC, who were elected from the Unity Convention in the presence of interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki on November 30.
Both sides have agreed to jointly hold the 12th General Convention. An 11-member Steering Committee has also been formed to make the convention transparent and credible.
