Unity Achieved Between Parallel NCCs in Korea Through Initiative of NRNA President Shrestha

Seoul: The organizational confusion and division seen in the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) South Korea for some time has finally ended. Unity was achieved between both sides during the visit of NRNA ICC President Mahesh Kumar Shrestha to Korea. President Shrestha, who traveled from Japan with the aim of resolving the dispute in Korea, held continuous talks with both parties.

Ultimately, embracing the core motto of "Nepali for Nepali," a "Comprehensive Unity Agreement" was signed between the two parallel committees on Tuesday to unite the Nepali community in Korea, as informed by President Shrestha from Korea.

It has been stated that the executive committee led by Parbati Lama, elected from the 10th National Convention, and the committee led by Bipin Kumar Gurung, elected from the Comprehensive Unity Convention, agreed to move forward by accepting each other's existence.

NRNA South Korea stated that the unity process was advanced with the common goal of utilizing the knowledge, skills, and capital of Nepalis in South Korea for the economic and social development of Nepal.

According to the agreement, both sides will accept each other's leadership and existence to maintain the organization as a single entity. To move forward with organizational unity, an 8-member steering committee will be formed, consisting of 4 members from each side, including the President, Senior Vice President, and General Secretary.

Similarly, it was agreed that the presidents of both parties would take turns chairing the steering committee meetings. For the remaining process of unity and other technical procedures, the steering committee agreed to prepare a working procedure in coordination with the NRNA Central Facilitation Committee.

The signing ceremony of the unity agreement was attended by NRNA ICC President Mahesh Kumar Shrestha, Regional Vice President Junu Gurung, Member of the NCC Facilitation and Coordination Committee Prakash Dhamala, and Patron of NCC Korea Bhim Gurung. It is believed that this unity has cleared the confusion among non-resident Nepalis in South Korea and opened the way to make the organization philanthropic and creative.

President Shrestha also informed that after the unity between the two parallel committees at the center, the Central Convention is scheduled for March 13–15, with the goal of completing the unity process of NCCs before that date.
