NRNA High-Level Committee Initiates Talks for Greater Unity

Kathmandu – The High-Level Judicial and Reconciliation Committee of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has initiated dialogue to achieve greater unity within the organization.

Following the Unity General Convention held in Kathmandu on May 3–4, the executive committee led by Mahesh Kumar Shrestha, elected for the 2025–27 term, has started talks to include the faction that did not participate in the convention.

The five-member committee, formed under the coordination of Rajendra Kumar (R.K.) Sharma, began the dialogue process immediately after being finalized.

The committee members include Janaki Gurung, Sunil Shah, Narayan Acharya, and Shani Oli. In its first meeting, the committee decided to consult with former presidents of the association, National Coordination Council (NCC) presidents, and other stakeholders to make the unification efforts meaningful.

During the first meeting, President Mahesh Kumar Shrestha and General Secretary Baburam (B.R.) Lama, who participated as invitees, urged the committee to make every possible effort to ensure institutional unity through dialogue. They also clarified that any decision taken by the committee would be accepted.

According to a Supreme Court ruling, the faction led by Badri KC has been claiming that its term will last until October 14, 2025, after which the executive committee will automatically be dissolved.
