NRNA Expresses Concern Over Social Media Ban, Urges Government to Facilitate Access

Kathmandu – The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has expressed serious concern over the impact of the social media ban in Nepal on millions of Nepalis living abroad.
In a statement issued by NRNA ICC spokesperson Gangadhar Gautam, it was highlighted that the sudden shutdown of social media has made it difficult for Nepalis worldwide to stay in touch with their families.
During festivals, social media serves as the only reliable medium for Nepalis abroad, and its restriction has caused worry in countless families.
The statement also noted that the ban has affected young Nepalis and students who use social media for business, professional growth, and skill development.
NRNA has urged the Nepalese government to adopt alternative measures to regulate social media while ensuring immediate accessibility.
The association has also expressed its readiness to assist in establishing access with social media companies operating abroad.
