Nepali Journalist in U.S. Threatened and Abused Over Religious Activities
San Francisco, California – Anil Pandey, a lifetime member of the Nepal America Journalists Association (NEJA), has reported threats and verbal abuse targeting him on social media. Pandey, who resides in the Bay Area, said he has been subjected to character attacks and death threats.
The incident involved banners and pamphlets with offensive messages posted and distributed near Muktinath Dham in Richmond, linked to Pandey’s work with Motherland Nepal during a three-day Shrimad Bhagwat Katha program from July 26–28.
Pandey described the act as an attack on his personal safety and religious faith and called on human rights advocates and the community supporting religious freedom to take notice.
NEJA condemned the threats and character assassination, urging authorities to ensure Pandey’s safety and protect his dignity.
