Nepali-Born Banker Prabesh Rizal Named Among America’s Top 100 Influential AI Leaders

New York — Prabesh Rizal, Chief Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Officer at Cross River Bank, has been named in the prestigious AI 100 list, recognizing the top 100 influential AI leaders across the United States. He received this honor during the MachineCon 2025 conference held in New York on Friday.

Born in Biratnagar, Nepal, Rizal has emerged as a dynamic figure at the intersection of artificial intelligence, financial services, and quantitative innovation. At Cross River Bank — a leading fintech institution providing technology-driven financial solutions to top global firms — Rizal leads the organization’s data and AI strategies.

He began his professional journey at Citigroup, later joining Cross River, where he founded and led the Quantitative Strategies division. He was subsequently promoted to his current executive position. Rizal holds a Master’s degree in Financial Engineering from New York University and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Quantitative Finance at EDHEC Business School in France.

The AI 100 Awards honor visionary leaders who are transforming businesses through the effective application of artificial intelligence and data science. Recipients are selected based on their impact, innovation, and measurable implementation of AI solutions across complex industries.

Event organizers described Rizal as “a bold, interdisciplinary leader shaping the future of AI in financial services,” stating that his story reflects the truly global nature of today’s AI leadership.
